POSTCARDS

FROM JAIPUR

Ar. Pieterjan Dehane, Ar. Olga Srejic
and Ar. Sidharth Soni

In 2018, The project "Postcards from Jaipur" was developed to emphasize the grandeur of architecture of Jaipur, among tourists, students, and citizens of the city. The project was initiated with a simple thought of documenting a city from an architect's perspective. Initial measure drawings were developed by Pieterjan Dehane. But it was very important for these drawings to reach public in a simpler form to understand the narrative and cherish the importance of these monuments. Hence a collective decision was taken by team to create 3D Pop Up Postcards. Olga Srejic joined the team and experimented with various paper models for printing, laser cutting, and paper folding. After many obstacles, 3D Paper Models were developed of which a major part is still handcrafted. These 3D Pop Up Postcards were developed and presented to Princess of Jaipur, Her Highness Diya Kumari and Director Yunus Khemani on approval of which these cards have been put up on sale at City Palace's Souvenir Shop.
