Explore - Ladakh through the lens of designers, artisans, and academicians. In this curated experience we will explore breathtaking landscapes, ancient monasteries and traditional lifestyle of Ladakh with people from design background.

 Introduction

Ladakh is an experience, the scale of this landscape cannot be comprehended in words, pictures, books or movies and hence School of Architecture & Design, MUJ is organizing an OPTIONAL study tour for the students of Faculty of Design, MUJ. In this curated experience students will document and explore breathtaking landscapes, ancient monasteries and traditional lifestyle of Ladakh with faculty members of School of Architecture.

Culturally you can visualize a cold desert based on silk route, sculpted by the transmission of goods and ideas from diverse regions of Tibet, Yarkand, Kashmir, Afghanistan and city states like Samarkand and Bukhara. Buddhism has a strong impact on region, its architecture and its lifestyle. Hence this hotpot of culture has a lot of cultural narratives to observe.
